Artigo: Cutaneous disseminated sporotrichosis complicated by osteomyelitis.

Sporotrichosis is caused by a dimorphic fungus, Sporothrixschenckii, which exists in the environment insoil and decaying vegetable matter contaminated by thefungus (1). It favours tropical and subtropical climatezones and is the cause of the most common subcutaneousmycosis in South America.Zoonotic transmission is rareworldwide, but in Brazil epidemics of sporotrichosis havebeen reported in humans who have been in close contactwith infected cats (2).
